Coaching online
Coach people you never see in person
Remote coaching removes the one thing in-person coaching relies on: you, standing there, watching the set happen. What replaces it is a plan the client can follow and a record you can read afterwards.

The remote coaching cycle
The same four moves, running on a loop, for every client on your list.
-
Take them on
The client gets a profile that holds their details, their goals, and everything that follows.
-
Write the plan
Days, exercises, and detail in the order you want them done, because you will not be there to set that order yourself.
-
Assign and let it run
The plan is delivered once. You are not re-sending it every week or pasting it into a message.
-
Read the week back
Completion tells you who kept up. You spend your time on the ones who did not.
The thread is not a coaching tool
Coaching over chat means the plan, the questions, and the excuses all live in the same scrolling column.
- The plan stops getting buriedIt sits on the client profile rather than 200 messages up.
- Notes arrive attached to the planInstructions travel with the thing they describe, instead of in a separate message that gets lost.
- You stop re-answering the same questionThe detail is in the plan, so the question gets asked less often.
Distance makes the record the only honest signal
When you cannot watch the session, what was logged is what you have. That is an argument for reading it carefully, not for guessing.
- Completion across the rosterOne view instead of opening twelve conversations to find out who trained.
- Direction, not a single dayA missed session and a fading pattern look nothing alike, and only one needs a call.
- Adjust on evidenceYou change the plan because the record shows a reason, not because a check-in felt flat.
Conceptual interface derived from product design files, not a screenshot of the published build.
What changes when the coaching goes remote
Neither column is better. They just put the work in different places.
| The task | Coaching in the gym | Coaching online |
|---|---|---|
| Setting the session | You demonstrate it and correct it live | The plan carries the order, the sets, and the detail |
| Knowing it happened | You watched it happen | Completion is logged against the plan |
| Changing something | You adapt it mid-session | You edit the plan and it reaches them from there |
| Keeping the record | Memory, or a notebook you have to find | The follow-up record sits on the client profile |
| Adding a client | Limited by your hours and your travel | Limited by how much follow-up you can give |
Questions about coaching remotely
Does this only suit fully online coaches?
No. The same list and the same plan library work whether you see someone twice a week or never.
Coaches running both tend to use it hardest for the remote half, because that is the half with no memory of the session attached.
Is there messaging inside the app?
In-app messaging is not approved for publication yet. The subscriptions and feature status are listed on the client management page, and you can ask us where it stands.
How many remote clients can I realistically follow?
That depends on how much follow-up you give each one, not on the app. We do not publish a client limit that has not been approved.
Does IronFit handle what my clients pay me?
No. What you charge your clients stays between you and them. Your IronFit subscription is a separate thing, explained on the subscriptions page.
For coaches
Run the remote half properly
